BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's wrestling team opened their dual schedule on Monday night in the Student Center Complex when they face Emmanuel College in the first Easter Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) dual for each school. The match went back-and-forth in the early going, but the Lions eventually pulled away to take a 29-17 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Reed Jacks gave the Tornado the early lead as he took an 8-2 decision from Ryan Hudson at 125 pounds. Jacks got a pair of takedowns in the first period to take the lead and capped the victory with two more in the third period.
- Fourth-ranked Bryce Killian regained the lead for King at 141 pounds with a 17-2 technical fall victory over Darius Bunch. Following a takedown, Killian earned a pair of four-point moves to open up a 10-0 lead after the first period. He then capped the 17-2 victory with a three takedowns in the second period.
- The Lions then went on a run, taking three straight wins to open up a 20-8 lead following a tight 2-1 overtime decision at 165 pounds.
- Kody Eichlin got King back on the board at 174 pounds with a hard fought 3-2 decision over Zac Pitt. Eichlin trailed 1-0 after the first period, but he earned an escape in the second period to even the score. He then took the lead with a takedown with 30 seconds left, taking the match 3-2.
- Andrew Lutterloh earned the last victory for King at 285 pounds, by forfeit to make the final score 29-17 in favor of Emmanuel.
FOR THE FOES
- Jay Sheppard took a 16-0 technical fall victory at 149 pounds to regain the lead for the Lions.
- Following Sheppard, Jeremiah Lutz scored a 2:42 pin over Landon Reed at 157 pounds.
- At 165 pounds, Nick Perez used an escape in overtime to defeat Darius Rutland 2-1.

- King travels to the Coker Duals on Friday where they will take on Truett-McConnell College, Brewton-Parker College and UNC Pembroke.
