BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's tennis team looked to finish out the regular season on a winning note when Lees-McRae College came to town. The Tornado was dominant in singles play winning all but one match en route to a 6-3 victory over the Bobcats.
King started with a number one doubles win from the team of Luis Delgado and Moritz Poswiat, 8-2. The Tornado dropped the other two doubles matches moving into singles play.
Lennard Keswani started singles play off with a win at number one over Joao Araujo, 6-1, 3-0 before Araujo retired due to injury. Posiwat stepped in at number two singles and took the match from Carlos Pinel 6-2, 6-2.
At number three singles, Delgado was victorious 6-3, 6-0. Makar Grytsevych earned a win at number five, defeating Hang Lak Choi 6-3, 6-2. In the final match of the day, Ankith Reddy Madasani pulled out a win in a tough match against Sebastian Zuhr. Madasani won the dual 7-6(7-5), 3-6, 11-9.
The Tornado will wait to see who they play in the first round of the Conference Carolinas tournament which is set to begin on Friday, April 24 in Sumter, S.C.
