DAHLONGEGA, Ga. – Playing their first match in more than a week, the King University men's tennis team had their hands full with 21st-ranked University of North Georgia. The Nighthawks grabbed the lead in doubles play, and continued their stellar play in singles to take the 8-1 victory.
North Georgia (10-2) started the day with an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles before taking the No. 1 doubles match 8-4 and the No. 3 doubles match by default. In singles play, it was more the same for the Nighthawks, taking five wins, including one by default to take the match 8-1.
Moritz Poswiat was the bright spot for King (4-10) as he won his No. 2 singles match over Julian Schoeller in straight sets. He took the first set 7-6 (8-6) before winning the second set 6-0.
King will be in action again on Tuesday when they host Conference Carolinas foe Belmont Abbey College at 1:00 p.m. at the King Tennis Complex.
