Tornado take win over Southern Wesleyan

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's tennis team finally was able to play outside on campus this spring, and they didn't disappoint, taking a Conference Carolinas victory from Southern Wesleyan University. The Tornado grabbed the lead in doubles, and clinched the match with four singles wins for the 6-3 victory.

Luis Delgado and Moritz Poswiat got the ball rolling for King (4-9, 3-4 CC) with an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles over Camilo Sandoval and Keegan Barkley. At the second flight, Lennard Keswani and Seth Carelli earned an 8-2 win over Loic Delaby and Matthew Plummer before Southern Wesleyan (0-8, 0-3 CC) took the final doubles match by default.

In singles play, Delgado earned a 6-1, 6-3 win over Barkley at the second flight while Poswiat topped Jacob Chesney 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. At No. 5 singles, Makar Grytsevych then earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Alex Ballenger before Keswani capped the 6-3 win with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 victory over Sandoval at No. 1 singles.

King will be in action again on Wednesday when they host Lincoln Memorial University at 1:00 p.m.
