Tornado fall at Bluefield State

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The King University men's tennis team took to the road to take on Bluefield State College on Thursday afternoon. The Blues won the three doubles matches before King took the top two flights in singles play, but it wasn't enough as Bluefield State took the dual 7-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Moritz Poswiat and Luis Delgado nearly came up with a victory at No. 1 doubles, falling to Jacob Carey and Aziz Yuldashev 9-8 (8-6) as the Blues swept the doubles matches.
  • Lenny Keswani got King on the board with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Carey at No. 1 singles.
  • Poswiat then came up with another victory, topping Anthony Braem 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 at No. 2 singles.
  • Jannis Walter nearly defeated Yuldashev at No. 4 singles in a match that went the distance. Yuldashev survived 7-5, 5-7, 10-5.

  • King plays their home opener on Friday when they host Milligan College at 2:30 p.m.
