Tornado defeated 1-0 at No. 14 Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C. - King College was overtaken by No. 14 Anderson (S.C.) University 1-0 in men's soccer action Wednesday.

Anderson, with a 1-1-1 record, got the game's lone score at the 34:31 mark by Ryan Messick with the assist by Lasse Sohrweide.

The Tornado got four saves from Richard Masters (Kent, England) on Anderson's five shots on goal and 11 total.

Of King's seven shots only one was on goal and Anderson's Lukas Hesse recorded the save.

The Tornado will take a 0-2-1 record to Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.) University for a Saturday meeting scheduled for 4 p.m. King played in 10 one-goal contests a season ago and went 5-5. Along with a tie against Tusculum (Tenn.) College to start the 2010 season the Tornado were defeated 1-0 by Flagler (Fla.) College. The 1-0 score was also the same when King last played Anderson in 2008.
