MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. - King College remained perfect for the 2010 fall men's tennis season thanks to a 9-0 win at nearby Milligan (Tenn.) College Tuesday.
The Tornado moved to 4-0 on the season and has only lost one match as a part of the streak.
King started with three doubles' points by a combined score of 24-2. In singles' play Jose Avila (Cuernavaca, Mexico) was a 6-0 and 6-0 winner in No. 2 action. Eirikur Magnusson (Reykjavick, Iceland) added an 8-0 pro-set win at No. 6 singles.
With the results, King pushed a streak to three straight shutouts against Milligan and overall a six-match winning streak against the Buffs. The Tornado won both meetings last year with the Buffaloes, 9-0 and 5-0.
The fall portion of the schedule wraps up for King Friday with a 2 p.m. contest at Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.) University. The Tornado won a 5-0 meeting against the two Saturday at the Mars Hill Fall Invitational.
