BLUEFIELD, Va. - King College picked up wins in men's and women's tennis action Tuesday at Bluefield (Va.) College. The Lady Tornado was 9-0 winners while the Tornado had an 8-1 victory.
Both the Tornado and Lady Tornado improved to 2-0 in 2010.
Jose Avila (Cuernavaca, Mexico) and Patrick Jones (Bluff City, Tenn.) both were 6-0 and 6-1 winners at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Both combined for the No. 1 doubles' victory which was 8-1.
Eden Sherrod (Kingston, Tenn.) did not drop a game in her No. 3 singles' match. In all the Lady Tornado only lost two games in the three doubles' matches.
King pushed a winning streak on both the men's and women's side to three straight over Bluefield.
Next for both the men's and women's teams of King will be the Mars Hill (N.C.) College Fall Invitational Sat. Sept. 25.
