King Softball Field

The Tornado opened the King Softball Complex in their first year of Conference Carolinas membership, 2011-12. Prior to the 2019 season, bleachers were added behind home plate and stairs coming down the hill.

Conveniently located on campus and nestled in the foothills of the smoky mountains, the King University Softball Complex serves as the home site for all Tornado home softball games. The complex features bullpens for home and visiting teams, full-size dugouts and a cage area equipped with a turf hitting surface. Surrounded by an eight-foot outfield fence the field has dimensions of 200 feet down the lines and 225 feet to center field. The complex also features a brand new, state of the art scoreboard.

Off the field, King Softball players enjoy a locker room complete with their own personal lockers and a lounge area featuring couches and a flat-screen television.

The King University softball complex hosted its first regular-season game on March 2, 2011 against local rival Tusculum College.  The program’s first win at the complex for the Tornado was an 8-6 victory over Mars Hill on March 12, 2011.
