Cedar Falls, Iowa– The King University Women's Wrestling team went to Iowa to compete in the NWCA National dual, first competing against Quincy, then beating Emmanuel, and then competing against Presbyterian. Falling to both teams, 3 to 35 against Augustana and 16 to 26 against Ashland.
King vs Quincy:
King fell to a tough Quincy team in a close match, 23 to 26.
The Tornado started off slow, losing the first bout in a pin, but came back at 110 with
Amelia Murphy winning in a tech fall.
King and Quincy would go back and forth the rest of the match, winning every other weight. King won 124 in a forfeit, 138 in a decision by
Ruby Julien-Newsom, with a true battle scoring 14 points to win.
Stella Steigler has a huge pin at 160 to put King back into the mix to win the match. However, King would be pinned at 180, leading them to lose the match.
Eliana Bommarito at 207 would pin Trinty White in 33 seconds to earn the final five points for the Tornado

After falling to Qunicy, King bounced back and beat Emmanuel 28-16.
The Tornado got off to a quick start, winning both 103 with Kent and 110 with Kibelbek in techs. Emmanuel would sneak a win in at 117 with a tech of their own.
King would then go on to tech at 124 with Foard, pin in 41 seconds at 138 with Julien-Newsom, pin in 1:20 at 160 with Steigler, and pin in 32 seconds at 207 with Bommarito.

After a victory over Emmanuel, King faced Presbyterian in a nail-biter, falling 22-23.
The Tornado won the first match in a first-period pin from Kent at 103 in 1:10. Presbyterian would bounce back with a pin of their own at 110.
King would win the next two matches at 117, winning by decision with Kibelbek wrestling. At 124, Foard would earn herself a tech fall to put King up 12-5. Presbyterian, though, would win the next four weight classes in tech falls, leading to 180.
Steigler, wrestling at 180 for this match, needed to win by tech fall or pin to help King have a chance at victory. Steigler earned a decision, leading to King losing 22-23.
