Cedar Falls, Iowa– The King University Women's Wrestling team went to Iowa to compete in the NWCA National Dual. On the first day, the women went 1-2 against the team, but the day turned around, winning both matches. The first match King won against William Jewell College, taking them into the ninth-place match, where they faced a familiar opponent in Quincy, defeating them and earning ninth place overall.
King vs William Jewell College:
King beat William Jewell in a second-half dominant fashion, winning the final five matches in tech fall and four pins, finishing with a final score of 30-16.
The Tornado started off slowly, losing the first three bouts 103 by forfeit, 110 by decision, and 117 by tech fall.
King then bounced back to win the 124 weight with a decision by
Jada Pichardo, not letting a point scored against her in the second period.
The Tornado would dominate the second half of the match with four pins coming from Virginia Ford at 138 in 3:37,
Stella Steigler at 160 in 1:03,
Jocelyn Kolozsy at 180 in 4:19, and
Eliana Bommarito at 207 in 53 seconds.

After falling to Qunicy yesterday, King was able to win today to earn ninth place overall.
The Tornado had a forfeit at 103, giving Quincy a free 5 points in the first bout. Quincy took advantage of it, winning the 110 bout by decision, which gave Quincy the 8-point lead. King came back at 117, winning in a pin from Kibelbek and a tech fall at 124 from Foard, pulling King into the lead 9-8.
King then scored at 145, 160, and 207, having two pins and a tech fall, leading them to take victory over Quincy.
