CENTRAL, S.C. – The King University baseball team split their Conference Carolinas doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Southern Wesleyan University, winning game one 6-3 before falling 12-2 in the second game.

SERIES HIGHLIGHTS
- Nathan Borchardt and Truman Roper both hit home runs, with Borchardt going 3-for-9 with three RBI while Roper was 4-for-9 with a pair of RBI.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Michael Starrs led off the third with a double to right field, advancing to third on an error by the pitcher, which also allowed him to score the game's first run.
- The Warriors would commit three errors, including when Truman Roper reached base on an error by the third baseman, which allowed Patrick Corley to score, putting King in front 2-0.
- Southern Wesleyan tied the score in the fourth, scoring two runs on two hits, with one King error as they pulled even at two.
- Both teams scored in the sixth, with Roper leading off the King half of the inning with a solo home run, but the Warriors responded in the bottom, tying the score at three.
- Conner Hyatt picked up a pair of RBI in the eighth, hitting a double to left field, which allowed Corley and Starrs to score, putting King in front 5-3.
- Corley added an RBI of his own in the eighth, executing a squeeze bunt, scoring Nick Valentin to extend the lead to 6-3.
- In the ninth, the Warriors got a one-out single, but Mitchell Kahlenberg induced a game-ending double play to clinch a 6-3 win.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- King struck in the top of the first, as Borchardt singled to left field, allowing Roper to score and putting King in front, 1-0.
- After the Warriors scored one in the second, they added a pair in the third to take a 3-1 lead.
- Southern Wesleyan added five in the fifth, including a grand slam, before adding four in the sixth to extend their lead to 12-1.
- Borchardt hit a two-out home run in the seventh, which was followed by Starrs hitting an infield single, but the Warriors ended up winning, 12-2.
