CENTRAL, S.C. – The King University baseball team wrapped up their Conference Carolinas series at Southern Wesleyan University with a dominating 8-0 win Monday afternoon, with King holding the Warriors to just two hits on the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Michael Starrs got things started in the first, hitting a single through the right side, allowing Hyatt to score, putting King in front 1-0.
- The Tornado added a pair in the third on a Garret Huffman double down the left field line, scoring Andrew Bryant and Chad Evans.
- Nathan Borchardt got in on the RBI action in the fourth, hitting an RBI single, with Hyatt, Truman Roper and Borchardt all scoring on an error by the catcher, stretching the lead to 6-0.
- In the sixth, Roper picked up an RBI on a bunt, which allowed Patrick Corley to score and make it a 7-0 lead.
- King added a run in the ninth, as Huffman grounded out, with Nick Valentin scoring on an error by the first baseman.
- It took the Warriors until the sixth inning to record a hit, and in the end they would finish with just a pair of hits against the Tornado pitching staff, with Rosado and Kahlenberg combining for the shutout.
FOR THE FOES
- Cam Mitchem and Gage Shaver had the lone hits for Southern Wesleyan.
- The Warriors used five pitchers, with four of them allowing runs in the loss.
