BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University baseball team scored three first inning runs Wednesday afternoon, but fell to Bluefield State University, 10-7 in a nonconference game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hyatt reached base on an error to start the game, setting Roper up for his home run, clearing the left field fence to put King ahead 2-0.
- Evans was the next batter, and he also went deep, taking the third pitch and hitting it over the left field fence, putting King in front 3-0.
- The Big Blue scored five in the second, taking a 5-3 lead.
- Evans picked up two more RBI in the fourth, singling to left field, driving in Roper and Hyatt to tie the score at five.
- A bases loaded walk and grand slam in the sixth put Bluefield State ahead 10-6, with Hyatt hitting his home run in the bottom of the frame, making the score 10-7.
- King left runners on base in the seventh and ninth, when the tying run was at the plate, as Bluefield State held on for a 10-7 win.
FOR THE FOES
- Chris Larkin was 4-for-5, with a home run, two doubles and five RBI.
- Peyton Lewis was 1-for-4, with a two-RBI single.
