BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's volleyball team picked up a nonconference win Friday night, 3-0 over Warner University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- The Royals took an early 3-1 lead, before a service error, kicking off what would end up being a 12-7 King run, taking a 13-10 lead.
- King then went on a 9-6 scoring run, pulling in front 23-17, forcing the Royals to take a timeout.
- After a service error gave King set point at 24-18, the Royals won a point before Mason Martindale ended the set with a thunderous kill, winning the set 25-19.
Second Set
- Warner raced out to an early 4-1 lead, before three straight King points tied the score at four.
- After tying the set at six, the Tornado took a 7-6 lead in the midst of a 3-0 scoring run, with AJ Drooker getting a kill and a service ace, putting King in front 8-6.
- King continued to hold their lead, eventually using a 4-1 scoring run to pull ahead 19-12, forcing a timeout from the Royals.
- The Tornado continued to stretch the lead, pulling to a 22-12 lead after scoring five points in a row.
- Warner pulled to within 24-17, but a Royals service error gave King a 25-18 set win, taking a 2-0 match lead.
Third Set
- King took an early 5-4 lead on a kill by Colton Bueter, which started a 7-2 scoring run that saw the King lead jump to 11-6.
- The lead continued to grow, reaching 15-9 on a combined block by Kellan Kennedy and Aiden Olson.
- A 4-2 King scoring run saw the lead jump to 19-11, forcing the Royals to take a timeout.
- Warner then scored four of the next six points, pulling to within 23-17.
- The set came to an end when Kennedy picked up another kill, winning the set 25-18, and the match 3-0.
