Michael Starrs hit his fourth home run of the season Friday afternoon as the King University baseball team fell 7-1 at #2 North Greenville in the first of a three game Conference Carolinas series.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
- Starrs hit his home run in the seventh, finishing the day 2-for-3.
- The other hit for King came from Nathan Borchardt, who was 1-for-4.
- Ray Berry threw five innings on the mound, with Jacob Raguini throwing the last three.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- North Greenville used a leadoff triple to score in the first, with the Crusaders stranding a runner on base.
- King had runners on first and second with one out in the fifth before a inning-ending double play brought the inning to a close.
- North Greenville scored four runs in the bottom of the frame on three hits to take a 5-0 lead.
- Starrs came up to bat in the seventh with two outs and launched a solo home run over the left field fence to get King on the board, 5-1.
- North Greenville used a two-RBI double in the bottom of the frame to extend the lead to 7-1.
- In the ninth, King loaded the bases after three straight two-out walks, but a strikeout swinging ended the game.
FOR THE FOES
- David Lewis and Bryce Roddey both had a pair of RBI for the Crusaders, with Zach Cowart recording a pair of hits.
- Reece Fields threw seven innings, allowing one earned run on three hits with nine strikeouts.
