Victoria Thauer scored in the 42nd minute Wednesday for the King University women's soccer team, but a late goal by Emory & Henry was the difference, as the Wasps stole a 2-1 win over the Tornado.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wasps were on the attack early, getting two shots on goal and three corner kicks in the first 10 minutes, but Olivia Seston was able to stop both shots.
- Ella Froehlich took the first shot of the match for King in the 18th minute, but it was stopped, with King getting a corner kick out of it.
- In the 31st minute, the Wasps scored their first goal, taking a 1-0 lead.
- Thauer's goal came 11 minutes later, after Rachel Radow took a shot that was saved, Thauer took the rebound and found the back of the net, tying the score at one.
- The Wasps retook the lead in the second half, scoring in the 78th minute to take a 2-1 lead.
- Despite two shots on goal in the final 12 minutes for the Tornado, the Emory & Henry goalie was able to make the saves needed for the Wasps to hang on for a 2-1 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- It was the first goal of the season for Thauer, and the second of her Tornado career.
- Seston finished with six saves.
FOR THE FOES
- Charlotte Stavis scored both the goals for Emory & Henry, taking seven shots, five of which were on goal.
- Adriana Rehg made four saves on the afternoon.
