BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Michelle White scored her first career goal Tuesday afternoon as the King University women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie with regional for Emory & Henry at Parks Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tornado were on target early, winning a corner kick just 33 seconds into the match, which was followed by Georgia Fisher getting a shot on goal that was steered away by the Wasps goalkeeper.
- King had another flurry of action in the 19th minute, when Taylor Stubbs ripped a shot that was saved, resulting in a corner kick for the Tornado that was quickly cleared.
- The Tornado would get another corner kick in the final minute of the half, but were unable to convert, sending the score into halftime scoreless.
- King started the second half just like they did the first, earning a corner kick not even two minutes into the half.
- After the clearance, White got the ball and broke away, using her right foot to beat the Wasps goalkeeper, putting the Tornado in front 1-0.
- The Tornado continued to pressure the goalkeeper, getting a shot on goal in the 61st minute that was saved and resulted in a corner kick that turned into another shot on goal and save.
- Emory & Henry was able to break through in the 80th minute as they found the equalizing goal.
- King was able to get a pair of shots and a corner kick in the final 10 minutes, but were unable to find the back of the net again.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- White's first career goal came in just her second collegiate match. She ended up playing 40 minutes on the afternoon.
- Kristal Garcia played the full 90 minutes in the King net, making three saves.
- The Tornado finished with 10 corner kicks, which is the most in a single game since joining NCAA Division II.
FOR THE FOES
- Karlijn Keuters had the goal for Emory & Henry, her first of the season.
- The only Wasps player other then Keuters to take a shot on goal was Katelyn Smith.
- The Wasps outshot the Tornado 17-13, but King had the edge in shots on goal 7-4.
UP NEXT
- The Tornado return to Parks Field Saturday morning when they host USC Beaufort in nonconference action. Kickoff from Parks Field is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
- Emory & Henry will host Bluefield State University Saturday afternoon.
