BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Taylor Stubbs made more history for the King University women's soccer program as she was selected United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week. This marks her third weekly award after winning weekly awards from Conference Carolinas and the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.
Stubbs, scored four goals in a 6-3 win over Lees-McRae College Wednesday, tying her for the most in program history since moving to NCAA Division II in 2010. She also picked up an assist, breaking the school record for points in a single match with nine.
This is believed to be the first national player of the week on in program history.
On the season, Stubbs ranks fourth in Conference Carolinas, averaging 0.90 goals per match. She has now scored goals in two of the last three King matches.
King returns to the pitch on Saturday against Chowan University at 11:00 a.m. at Parks Field.
