CENTRAL, S.C. – The King University women's soccer team came back from a second half deficit to take a lead at Southern Wesleyan University in the Conference Carolinas opener. However, the Warriors tallied a late goal and the contest ended in a 2-2 draw.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southern Wesleyan started the contest on the offensive with a shot on goal, corner kick and another shot in the opening five minutes.
- The only scoring chance of the opening 45 minutes for the Tornado came in the 17th minute.
- Veronica Roach ripped in shot on target, but it was turned away.
- The Warriors took three shots over the final 25 minutes, but all three were turned away by Kristal Garcia, sending the game to halftime with no score.
- Southern Wesleyan took the lead two minutes into the second half as Karly Gordon scored in the 47th minute.
- King finally broke through in the 65th minute when Roach slid a shot past the goalkeeper into the lower left side to even the score.
- Garcia came up with two more saves before the Tornado found the back of the net again.
- In the 76th minute, Mackenzie Winters played a cross that was deflected by Desi White to Isabella Carr.
- Carr then ripped a shot from the left side of the goal inside the right side to give King the 2-1 lead.
- Garcia came up with a save as Southern Wesleyan placed one of their next four shots on frame.
- The Tornado packed the defensive in over the final five minutes, and the Warriors had a corner kick in the final two minutes.
- With 1:13 remaining, a foul was called on the Tornado in the box, resulting in a penalty kick.
- Bryanna Pickens took advantage to even the score at 2-2.
- Southern Wesleyan had one more chance in the final minute, but it sailed high as the contest ended in a 2-2 draw.
