BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's soccer team scored a pair of first half goals Tuesday afternoon, but were unable to top the Erskine Flying Fleet, settling for a 2-2 draw at Parks Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- King started on the attack early, getting three shots on goal in the first five minutes, but were unable to find the back of the net.
- That changed in the 21st minute, when Ariana Gallegos scored her first goal of the season, with assists going to Mackenzie Winters and Isabella Carr, putting King up 1-0.
- 10 minutes later, Brianna Sabitino scored her second of the season, extending the Tornado lead to 2-0.
- Erskine scored one in the 38th minute to narrow the advantage to 2-1, which would be the score heading into the halftime break.
- The Flying Fleet took just under four minutes to get their first shot of the second half, but Kristal Garcia made a save, preserving the King lead.
- Erskine tied the score in the 71st minute on a goal by Kathryn Mobley.
- That would end up as the last shot on goal, as neither side was able to muster any offense, with the match ending tied at 2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The goal by Gallegos was her first since March 7, 2021 when she scored in a road match against Emmanuel.
- Sabitino's goal was her second of the season, tying her for the team lead.
- Winters now has three assists on the season, leading the team. The only other Tornado to record an assist is Carr, who picked up her first assist of the season.

- Mobey and Kelsey Tyson had the goals for Erskine.
- Clair Lewis had an assist, while Kaylie Hayes had three saves for Erskine.
UP NEXT
- The Tornado will start a three-match road trip Saturday, when they take on UNC Pembroke. King won't return to Parks Field until October 1, when they face Barton.
- Erskine is also back in action Saturday, taking on Mount Olive before starting a three-game homestand.
