CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The King University men's volleyball team extended their winning streak to three matches Saturday, sweeping nonconference opponent Queens.
JT Deppe and
Suetonius Harris both finished with 10+ kills, while Josh Kim had 14 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- The Tornado took an early 6-3 lead thanks to a 4-0 run that was capped off by a kill from Kim.
- Queens fought back, getting to within 19-18 before Deppe recorded a kill to give King a 20-18 lead.
- After a Queens attack error and a Royals kill, Harris picked up a kill to make the score 22-19.
- Queens again got to within one point at 22-21 before a service error gave King the 23-21 advantage.
- The Royals scored a point to make the score 23-22, but back-to-back attack errors gave King the set, 25-22.
Second Set
- King took an early 5-2 lead, with Deppe recording a pair of Kills and Kellan Kennedy recording a kill.
- After fighting back, the Royals eventually took a 12-11 lead before three consecutive points game King a 14-12 lead, forcing a timeout from Queens.
- The Tornado held a 16-15 lead when a Royals service error kicked off a four-point run that made the lead 20-15.
- That led quickly became 23-16, as Deppe had a kill that was paired with a pair of errors from the Royals, who would get to within 24-19 before another service error handed King the set, 25-19.
Third Set
- After King grabbed a 4-3 lead, they went on a streak of six consecutive points, with Deppe getting a service ace and Harris starting it off with a kill.
- The Royals would score two points to make the score 10-5 before King scored four straight, extending the advantage to 14-5.
- The Tornado were up 16-9 when a service error from Queens kicked off a 3-0 run where Kennedy had a kill and Kim picked up a service ace, making the score 19-9.
- It was a 23-13 lead for the Tornado when a service error handed them match point, which they won on a kill from Kim that handed them a 25-13 set win and a 3-0 match win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Deppe finished with a team-high 11 kills and three aces, while Harris had 10 kills and Kim added seven, along with his 14 digs.
- For Harris, this was the sixth time this season he finished with 10+ kills, and was the second time in the last three matches
- As a team the Tornado recorded 46 digs, their second-most of the season.
FOR THE FOES
- Jack Brinkman finished with 11 kills for the Royals, while Matthew Pilch had nine.
- Daniel Leitao had 30 assists along with 12 digs to lead the team in both categories.

- King will continue their nonconference road trip Thursday when they face Tusculum at 7 p.m.
- Queens is back on the court Friday when they host North Greenville.
