DUE WEST, S.C. – The King University men's volleyball team swept Erskine College Saturday afternoon, picking up their second win of the season over the Flying Fleet.
Suetonius Harris led the Tornado attack, recording 19 kills while
Joshua Kim finished with 16 kills.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- Erskine jumped out to an early 4-1 lead before JT Deppe and Harris recorded kills to make the score 4-3.
- After Erskine took an 8-7 lead, the Tornado would score three straight points to take a 10-8 lead.
- It would end up being a lead that King wouldn't relinquish, as they scored four in a row to extend the lead to 14-9.
- The Flying Fleet made a run, scoring four straight to get to within 19-17 before a service error ended the run.
- Erskine would eventually tie the set at 23 before Harris picked up a kill to give King set point and Erskine committed an attack error to give King the set, 25-23.
Second Set
- The second set was tied at five when a pair of Erskine errors gave King a 7-5 lead, which quickly turned into 9-5 after back-to-back kills from Kim and Aaron Milstead.
- Erskine got to within 10-7 before Harris picked up three straight kills to personally make the score 13-7.
- Milstead would pick up a kill to give King their largest lead of the set, 20-13.
- The Flying Fleet would get back to a 22-18 score before Deppe, Sean Haberthy and Kim recorded kills to end the set, 25-20 in favor of the Tornado.
Third Set
- Set 3 would feature nine lead changes, with neither team able to get a large advantage.
- The Tornado were up 11-9 when Erskine scored four straight points to take a 13-11 lead, though King would rally back, scoring twice to tie the score.
- After an Erskine kill, the Tornado would score four points, with Kim and Haberthy bookending the run with kills to give King a 17-14 lead.
- Erskine would tie the score at 20, before taking a 21-20 lead.
- A pair of King points gave them match point at 24-23, but Erskine would tie the match at 24.
- Erskine took a 27-26 lead on an attack error, but the Tornado roared back, scoring three straight, with Kim picking up a pair of kills to give King a 28-27 lead before Jack Sarnowski recorded a service ace to close the set 29-27, and the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Harris led all players, recording a season-high 19 kills, while Kim finished with 16 and Deppe added nine.
- Sarnowski had another standout match, picking up 47 set assists, along with the match-clinching service ace.
- Noah Melendez had 14 digs to lead the Tornado back row.
FOR THE FOES
- Jason Sall led the Erskine attack, picking up 10 kills and five block assists, along with a team-high six digs.
- Edgerrin Austin ended up with nine kills and a pair of block assists, while Juan Alcoba had 32 set assists for the Flying Fleet.
UP NEXT
- The Tornado will start a two-match nonconference homestand Tuesday, when they host Lincoln Memorial University for a 7 p.m. first serve.
- Erskine will be at Barton College Friday night.
