BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University baseball team fell to UNC Pembroke in game three of their series with UNC Pembroke on Tuesday afternoon. The Tornado plated a pair of runs in the ninth inning, but fell to the Braves 8-2.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
- Jarrett Backus led the Tornado offense, going 2-for-4 with two runs batted in.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UNC Pembroke grabbed the lead on a two-out single from Wellington Guzman that scored Andrew Mills in the second inning.
- The Braves added two more in the third, one on a ground out and another on a Spencer Faulkner double to take a 3-0 lead.
- King put one runner on each of the second, third and fourth innings, but UNC Pembroke pitcher Evan McLean thwarted each rally to keep the Tornado off the scoreboard.
- The Tornado deficit grew to 5-0 following two runs in the seventh, the second on a Blake Hinson two-out double.
- UNC Pembroke added one in the eighth and two in the ninth to take ab 8-0 lead.
- King loaded the bases in the ninth before Backus ripped a double down the left field line, cutting the deficit to 8-2.
- However, the Braves got the next out, handing King the 8-2 defeat.
FOR THE FOES
- Hinson led the Braves, going 3-for-5 with three runs batted in.
- Faulkner, Christian Jayne and Bobby Dixon all added two hits apiece.
