MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The King University women's soccer team fought back from a first half deficit on Saturday at Chowan University. However, the Hawks netted two goals in the final 20 minutes to take the contest 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chowan seemed to control play in the opening 45 minutes, outshooting the Tornado 11-1, placing four shots on target.
- The lone shot for the Tornado was on frame off of the foot of Veronica Roach in the 43rd minute, but it was turned away.
- The Tornado earned two corner kicks in the first half, but Chowan earned four.
- Chowan started on the attack as a header went off the crossbar in the fourth minute before the Hawks broke through in the 11th minute.
- Destiny Makanjuola took a pass from Cristina Flores and found the back of the net, putting the Tornado behind 1-0.
- Kristal Garcia made three saves the remainder of the half, as the Tornado trailed 1-0 at halftime.
- The Tornado offense picked up in the second half, and the Tornado finally broke through in the 70th minute.
- On a free kick just outside the box in the middle of the field, Taylor Stubbs placed her shot inside the left post to even the tally.
- King took 10 shots in the second half, placing six on goal.
- However, it wasn't enough as the Hawks answered the Tornado goal with tallies in the 74th and 78th minutes to regain the lead at take the contest 3-1.

- The goal for Stubbs is her second of the season and third of her career.
- The Tornado took 11 shots in the contest, placing seven on goal and earned five corner kicks.
- Kristal Garcia made five saves in the contest for the Tornado.
