FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. -- The 24th-ranked King University men's wrestling team won three matches via bonus points Wednesday night as they topped Emmanuel College in their South Atlantic Conference Carolinas opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rylee Billings got the night started on the right foot for King, winning a 6-1 decision to hand the Tornado an early lead,
- After a Emmanuel win at 133 pounds, returning All-American Christian Small won via first-period fall to give the Tornado the lead back.
- Demetri Teddlie recorded a takedown in the closing seconds to tie his match at 149 pounds, but the riding time point gave his opponent a very narrow win.
- Dallas Boone won a battle at 157 pounds, taking home a 10-5 decision to give King an 11-6 lead.
- Bo Perkins had no problems at 165 pounds, winning a tech fall by a score of 18-1.
- Samari Suddeath joined the win club for King, picking up a 9-4 win at 174 pounds.
- After Freddie Garcia recorded a win via forfeit, Jeremiah Good and Ty Kelly both lost their bouts, though the Tornado had enough of a team lead to hold on for the win.
