Box Score BRISTOL, Tenn. – Returning home after a pair of road matches last week, the King University women's soccer team scored a pair of goals in the first five minutes to gain the advantage over Southern Wesleyan University. The Tornado add two more to take the Conference Carolinas contest 4-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It didn't take Paula Doran long to put the Tornado ahead as she took a pass from Kendyl Baird in the third minute and ripped a shot from 30 yards out under the crossbar.
- In the fifth minute, Kara Garrett added another for the Tornado off of a free kick. Lindsay Curtis took the free kick from 35 yards out on the left and Garrett got a head on it, flipping it over the keeper for the 2-0 King lead.
- Miranda Smith made it a 3-0 Tornado lead in the 13th minute when she took a pass from Petra Kouivuvaara on the left side of the box and put her shot into the lower left side of the goal.
- Southern Wesleyan got on the board in the 20th minute when Lily Troyano converted a penalty kick.
- Doran dished out an assist in the 48th minute on a corner kick as the ball found Haley Cook's head in the middle of the box. Cook redirected the ball over the keeper, giving King a 4-1 advantage.
- From there, the Tornado defense locked in, only allowing four shots, one on goal over the final 35 minutes to take the contest.
- King took 24 shots in the contest, placing seven on frame.
- Nicole Dagher made one save to earn the win in goal.
FOR THE FOES
- Southern Wesleyan took eight shots in the contest, and the Tornado defense only allowed two on goal.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The goals for Smith and Garrett are their fifth of the season while Doran and Cook each tallied their second goals of the year.

- King will be in action again on Saturday when they host Erskine College at 1:00 p.m. at Parks Field.
- Southern Wesleyan hosts North Greenville University on Saturday.
