King remains undefeated in conference play after win at Erskine

DUE WEST, S.C. – The King University women's soccer team defeat Erskine College behind three assisted goals. The Tornado scored two first half goals and outlasted the flying fleet in the second half taking the contest 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Rachel Thorpe started it off for King finding the back of the net on a pass from from Hulda Sigurdardottir in the 21st minute.
  • In the 37th minute Kara Garrett connected with Lindsay Curtis to tally her first assist of the season to extend the Tornado lead to 2-0.
  • King's final goal came in the second half as Keely Easterling dished out an assist to Garret finding the back of the net for her second goal of the game in the 73rd minute.
  • Soon after Erskine was able to get on the scoreboard with a goal in the 74th minute.
  • King recorded 22 shots to Erskine's five shots

FOR THE FOES

  • Keeper Ashton Burgess recorded nine saves for the match.
  • Katherine Coleman netted Erskine's only goal.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Easterling handed out her first assist of the season.
  • Curtis' assist marks her first of the season.
  • Garrett now ranks second in the conference in goals scored with five.

UP NEXT

  • The Tornado travel next for a non-conference match Wednesday against Milligan College at 7:00 pm.
  • Erskine travels to take on North Greenville University on Saturday.
