Nestled in the heart of North Carolina, in an area known as the Piedmont, is the City of Burlington: A City of progress and quality, which boasts a population of more than 50,000. Burlington is located only a few hours drive from the picturesque Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains to the west and the scenic coastal beaches to the east. With a mean annual temperature of 61 degrees, an average rainfall of 51 inches, and four distinct seasons. Burlington residents and visitors are afforded the opportunity to enjoy many different recreational activities and events year round.
Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference headquartered in High Point, N.C. Member schools are located in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Two institutions, Emmanuel College (Ga.) and Southern Wesleyan University, are currently in the DII membership process and are expected to be full Conference Carolinas members in the near future. Conference Carolinas is built upon the idea of offering challenging NCAA competition in an environment that fosters both the academic and athletic achievements of its student-athletes. Conference members are small, private institutions that offer exemplary educations and scholarships for performance in the classroom and on the field.
