CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The King University women's cross country team opened their season on Saturday at the Western Carolina University Cross Country Festival, running a two mile race. Kaitlin Rivera led the way for the Tornado, finishing 26th.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Rivera was the first Tornado to cross the tape, covering the two mile distances in 12:38.37.
  • Next for King was senior Abbi Pierce, finishing 36th with a time of 13:15.52.
  • Audrey McCormick crossed the line next for King, finishing with a time of 13:35.19.
  • The final runner for the Tornado was Emily Sutherland who finished with a time of 14:26.66.
