MONTEVALLO, Ala. – After a week off, the King University women's cross country team looked to be in prestige form when they traveled to Montevallo, Ala. to take part in the Falcon Classic, a 6k race. Leading the way for the Tornado was Amelia Martin who helped the team earn a fourth place finish.
King finished in fourth place, ahead of Conference Carolinas foe the University of Mount Olive, who finished in tenth in a field of 19 teams. The pack of Tornado runners finished within four minutes of each other.
Martin set the pace for the Tornado and most of the field finishing in seventh with a time of 23:34.60. Crossing the finish line in 21st was Hannah Green posting a time of 24:34.50, a new personal best. Hannah Sanford came in after Green with a time of 24:46.80, a new personal record as well. Lilly Hall crossed next for the Tornado with a time of 25:19.50. Maddy Carmody came in next followed by Abbi Pierce with times of 25:34.20 and 25:39.00. Maggie Edwards recorded a new personal best with a time of 25.53.90. Haylea Seals was last to cross the line for the Tornado with a time of 27:21.00.
King will travel to Concord, N.C. next to take part in the Conference Carolinas Championships on November 7.
