Sokol selected Conference Carolinas Academic Athlete
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Kendra Sokol has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Women’s Cross Country Academic Athlete of the Year for the 2013 season. Sokol had a stellar senior season for the Tornado, helping lead King to their second consecutive Conference Carolinas title.

Hannah Witt 50th at NCAA Championships
SPOKANE, Wash. – Representing the King University women’s cross country team, senior Tornado runner Hannah Witt turned in an impressive performance in her final race in a king uniform at the NCAA Division II Championships in Spokane, Wash. on Saturday, finishing in the 50th position.

Witt represents Tornado NCAA Championships
BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second consecutive season, the King University men’s cross country team will travel to the NCAA Championships to compete for a national title. With four All-Region performers and a second-place finish at the NCAA Region Championship on November 9, the Tornado will look to improve upon last year’s 27th-place result at the national meet in Spokane, Wash on Saturday. In the women’s race, the Tornado will be represented by senior Hannah Witt.

BRISTOL, Tenn. – In what has been a record setting year, King women’s cross country senior Hannah Witt has added yet another award to her mantle. Witt won the NCAA Southeast Regional on Saturday and was named Southeast Region Athlete of the Year.

Six Tornado runners named Academic All-Conference
BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Conference Carolinas office announced its cross country academic all-conference teams on Tuesday morning, and King University was well represented. Six King University student-athletes were named to the squads, the second-most in the conference behind North Greenville University’s seven.

King takes three CC Weekly awards
BRISTOL, Tenn. – On Wednesday when Conference Carolinas announced their weekly awards, three King University student-athletes were honored. Both Hannah Witt and Spencer Frantom won the awards for cross country while Elizabeth Swallow took home the women’s golf award.

King sets five PRs, school record at Royal XC Challenge
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On Friday afternoon, the King University women’s cross country team turned in one of their best performances of the season as each of King’s top-5 runners set personal records at the Royal Cross Country Challenge. For the second week in a row, Hannah Witt set a new school record, leading the Tornado to a sixth place finish in a meet that had 45 teams.

BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second time this season, King University’s Hannah Witt has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week during week number five of the 2013 season. On Friday, Witt posted a school record time en route to winning the Mountaineer Open.

BRISTOL, Tenn. - Both the women's and men's cross country teams had a strong opening weekend of team competition, placing second and first respectively at the Eye Opener Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C. on Friday. Conference Carolinas announced today that Tornado runners Hannah Witt and Spencer Frantom were named Runners of the Week after their impressive individual performances at the meet.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The King University women’s cross country team opened its season with a second place finish among NCAA Division II teams at the Eye Opener Invitational on Friday evening.
