OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – King University brought 11 women's wrestlers to compete in the University Nationals. Sarah Hildebrandt finished first in the 121-pound weight class while teammate Alli Ragan finished first in the 130-pound weight class.
Hildebrandt went undefeated in six matches at the event, including a 1-0, 1-0 win over teammate Samantha Klingel in the semifinals. She then defeated Breiana Delgado of Oklahoma City University 0-1, 5-0, 2-0 in the finals to take home the championship. Ragan defeated Tiffany Sluik of Jamestown College 3-0, 1-0 to take first place at the 130-pound weight class. With the wins, Hildebrandt and Ragan both secured spots on the University world team that will represent the United States in Russia.
Julia Salata finished second in the University division at the 158.5-pound weight class. She fell to Brittany Roberts of Oklahoma City 7-0, 2-0. However, in the Pan Am Wrestle Offs, she defeated Brittany David to win the 67 kg weight class. With the win in the Pan Am Wrestle Offs, Salata earned a spot on the Senior Pan Am team which will compete in Panama.
Kayla Brendlinger only dropped one match at the event, falling to Delgado 1-0, 2-0 in the semifinals. She then rebounded to defeat teammate Klingel on a fall, 1-0, 0-3, 1:33 to finish in third place. Klingel finished fourth, with her only two losses coming to Hildebrandt and Bredlinger.
At the 138.5-pound weight class, Amanda Henley placed third after defeating Lindenwood's Monica Ramirez 0-1, 3-0, 1-0.
Shannon Constantine finished fourth in the 105.5-pound weight class, with two of her three losses coming to Victoria Anthony of Sunkist Kids. She dropped the third place match 4-2, 7-0 to Emily Webster of Oklahoma City.
Lori Ramos placed fifth at the 158.5-pound weight class, and Kerri Bumpers finished fourth in the 169.75-pound weight class.
Salata and Hildebrandt will compete at the Senior Pan Ams April 3-7.
