BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the first time this season, King University women's volleyball player Amy Serowski has been honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The defensive specialist garnered ECAC Defensive Player of the Week honors following a big week in the back row, helping the Tornado to a 2-1 week.

Serowski anchored the defense for the Tornado in a week where they went 2-1, winning both of their Conference Carolinas matches. The junior started the week with 28 digs in a 3-2 win at Belmont Abbey College, King's first road win against Belmont Abbey since 2011 and the second win ever in the Wheeler Center. The 28 digs were one shy of Serowski's career-best that she set last season in the conference tournament

The Moore, Okla., native followed that with a team-high nine digs a in a 3-0 win over Pfeiffer University and later tallied 17 digs in a five set match against Georgia College. For the week she tallied 54 digs and averaged 4.15 digs per set to lead the King defense.

King returns to action on Friday at Barton College in a Conference Carolinas North Division tilt. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m. King then travels to take on the University of Mount Olive on Saturday.
