Scaniffe tabbed TSWA Athlete of the Week

BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second time this season, King University women's volleyball player Cathy Scaniffe was named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association's Volleyball Player of the Week. She had a solid week, averaging 4.50 kills per set in three matches last week.

The Lorton, Va., native posted 17 kills and nine digs against Concord University, just missing her second career double-double and falling one dig shy of a career-best. The sophomore followed that with 23 kills and just six errors in 53 attacks for a .321 attack percentage in a five-set match against Barton College. She added five digs and three blocks versus Barton as well. Scaniffe finished the week with 14 kills against Mount Olive.

The Tornado are in action again this weekend when they travel to take on Belmont Abbey College on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. King then faces Pfeiffer University at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday before taking on Georgia College at 4:00 p.m. in Misenheimer, N.C.
