BRSITOL, Tenn. – For the second time today, and the second time in as many weeks, King University's Summer Kremer has earned another weekly award. The junior outside hitter has garnered Player of the Week honors from the Tennessee Sportswriters Association for the second week in a row.
Kremer led the Tornado with 47 kills, and posted 16 digs in four matches a week ago, as the Tornado extended its winning streak to 12 contests.
The Mill River, N.C., native hit .345 in the four matches, starting the week with eight kills against Concord University and adding seven kills and five digs at Erskine College. The junior posted 16 kills and five digs at North Greenville University and recorded 16 kills and six digs against Clark Atlanta University.
The Tornado posted a 4-0 record last week, extending their winning streak to 12 matches. Their wins over Erskine College and North Greenville, the Tornado remain a perfect 4-0 in league play. King puts that record on the line tonight when they travel to Pfeiffer University. First serve from Misenheimer, N.C., is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
