GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College slipped to No. 7 in this week's NCCAA Division I Volleyball Burbridge Rating, the organization announced.
The Lady Tornado had been at No. 5 the previous three weeks. The No. 7 ranking is not the lowest for King this season as the squad was No. 8 earlier in the season. King's Burbridge went from 5.82 to 5.68 after a 3-3 week put the team at 21-7 overall.
Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) University remained No. 1, followed by Malone (Ohio) University, up from the No. 4 spot. Campbellsville (Ky.) University and Trinity Christian (Ill.) College both slipped, to No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Indiana Wesleyan University rounded out the Top-5.
Asbury (Ky.) University started the next five, with King No. 7. Trinity International (Ill.) University, Palm Beach Atlantic (Fla.) University and Geneva (Pa.) College were ranked from No. 8 to No. 10.
The Mid-East Region had a trio of squads in the Top-10, King, Campbellsville and Asbury. The East also had three, Mount Vernon Nazarene, Malone and Geneva. Trinity Christian and Trinity International both came from the North Central. Palm Beach Atlantic was the only team from the South and Indiana Wesleyan from the Mid-West.
King already has a win this week, a 3-0 sweep at Bluefield State (W.Va.) College on Tuesday to improve to 22-7. The Lady Tornado will return to action Friday at Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.) University with a 6:30 p.m. contest.
