Lady Tornado wins twice at Pacer Volleyball Invite, notches 20th victory

AIKEN, S.C. - King College notched the 20th and 21st wins of the season Saturday as the Lady Tornado swept both Francis Marion (S.C.) University and Augusta State (Ga.) University on the final day of the Pacer Volleyball Invitational hosted by USC Aiken.

In the morning match with Francis Marion, King won 25-22, 25-19 and 25-20. To beat Augusta State, the Lady Tornado won the sets 25-12, 25-13 and 25-17.

The meeting with Francis Marion was the first for the Lady Tornado under the direction of head coach Chris Toomey. He was able to even his record against Augusta State to 1-1. The 2009 meeting resulted in a 3-0 setback.

The Lady Tornado improved to 21-5 after the wins Saturday.

King travels to Bluefield State (W.Va.) College to play a 6:30 p.m. contest Tuesday. The Lady Tornado was a 3-0 winner over Bluefield State on Oct. 7.
