Split for Lady Tornado Volleyball Saturday

GAFFNEY, S.C. - The King College women's volleyball squad split in Saturday's action of the Limestone College Labor Day Invitational with a sweep over Winston Salem State (N.C.) University, but a five-set loss to Mars Hill (N.C.) College ended the day.

Against Winston-Salem State King used scores of 25-18, 25-13 and 25-12 for the victory. King fell behind Mars Hill after a 25-21 decision, but the Lady Tornado evened things up 25-20. Mars Hill took the third 25-17 and King forced a final game with a 25-23. King and Mars Hill played in a 20-18 decision that went to Mars Hill in game five.

King, at 3-1 in the young 2010 season, welcomes Montreat (N.C.) College to Bristol for the Lady Tornado home opener Wednesday at 7 p.m.
