BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second time in three weeks, King University's Maegan Henry has been honored by Conference Carolinas. Henry was named Conference Carolinas Women's Outdoor Field Player of the Week following her performance at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational.
The Bluefield, Va., native set two school records over the weekend at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational. In the shot put, she registered a toss of 13.61 meters to finish second in the event. The toss also exceeds the NCAA provisional distance to qualify her for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The sophomore also set a school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 41.13 meters. She placed 12th in the event.
The Tornado will be in action again on April 19 and 20 at the Conference Carolinas Championships hosted by Lees-McRae.
