Henry leads King on first day at Western Carolina
CULLOHWEE, N.C. – After the first day of competition at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic, hosted by Western Carolina University, the King University women's track is in fourth place. Maegan Henry led the team by scoring six of King's nine points on the day.
Henry started the day by placing seventh, and scoring two points with her discus throw of 33.65 meters. She followed that with a fifth place finish in the javelin throw. Her toss of 30.37 meters scored four points, and came within one meter of her personal best.
Atlanta Westbrook scored King's final three points with her 6th place finish in the triple jump. She matched her personal best jump of 11.03 meters.
Kayla Gash and Taylor Rasmussen also competed in both the discus and javelin. Gash recorded a distance of 32.18 meters in the discus and 17.99 in the javelin while Rasmussen registered throws of 29.93 meters in the discus and 12.16 in the javelin.
Competition will be complete tomorrow in Cullohwee, N.C.
