JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - King College opened the 2011 Niswonger Invitational Friday with numerous performances including a new school record at nearby East Tennessee State.
Ashtan Hibar (Mansfield, Ohio) tossed the shot put 39 feet and one inch for a new school record by over seven inches.
Lanneickia Brewton (Inman, S.C.) ran the 60-meter dash in 8.00 seconds for a season best.
Earl Rahming (Nassau, Bahamas) posted a time of 49.29 seconds in the 400, the fastest time of the season.
Jordan Tippens (Knoxville, Tenn.) crossed the finish line in 23.14 seconds in the 200. Diverne Ingraham (Matthew Town, Great Inauga) was not far behind with a run of 23.69.
King concludes the event Saturday with events starting at 8 a.m.
