BRISTOL, Tenn. – In their final home match of the season, the King University women's tennis team fell to Pfeiffer University. The Falcons took the Conference Carolinas dual 7-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The King duo of Catherine Vezey and Haley Maloney took an 8-4 win over Meggan Amour and Madison Hatley at No. 2 doubles to get King on the board.
  • However, the Falcons won the other two doubles matches to take the lead.
  • In singles play, Maloney defeated Brittany Blackburn 6-1, 6-0 at the fifth flight.
  • Vezey dropped a tight 7-6 (11-9), 6-0 match at No. 3 singles to Amour as the Falcons took the rest of the singles matches to win the dual 7-2.

  • King closes the season on Friday when they travel to take on the University of North Georgia at 2:00 p.m.
  • The match between King and Lincoln Memorial scheduled for Saturday has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
