UNC Asheville blanks Tornado

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The King University women's tennis team traveled to take on NCAA Division I foe UNC Asheville on Friday afternoon, and the Bulldogs took a 7-0 victory.

UNC Asheville (8-3) grabbed the lead early in doubles as they took a three doubles matches. For King (6-7) Katya Cerny and Alyssa Salazar dropped an 8-2 decision at No. 1 doubles to Zoe Hamel and Ericka Rivero.

In singles play, Cerny turned in one of the closest matches of the day, falling to Hamel 6-2, 6-1 at No. singles. At the second flight, Naomi Reyes dropped a 6-0, 6-3 decision to Rivero as the Bulldogs then cruised to the 7-0 victory.

King returns to Conference Carolinas play on Saturday when they travel to Erskine College. The dual is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m., in Due West, S.C.
