King tops Emmanuel to win final fall dual match
FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The King University women’s tennis played their final dual match of the fall, and posted their third win on Saturday afternoon. The Tornado took a 9-0 road triumph over Emmanuel College to push their dual match record to 3-2.

Tornado fall at Catawba
SALISBURY, N.C. – The King University women’s tennis team traveled to take on nonconference foe Catawba College on Friday afternoon. The Tornado took one doubles match, and one singles match as they fell to the Indians 7-2.

Tornado take nail biter over LMU, fall to ETSU
BRSITOL, Tenn. – The King University women’s tennis team had a full day of tennis on Friday as they traveled to take on NCAA Division I East Tennessee State University and Lincoln Memorial University. The Tornado dropped the early match to ETSU 7-0, but rebounded for a tight 5-4 win over Lincoln Memorial in the afternoon.

Tornado top Bluefield State for first win of season
BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – In their first dual match of the season, the King University turned in a road victory over Bluefield State College. The Tornado won all three doubles matches before taking the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 singles matches for their first victory of the year.

Reyes reaches consolation quarters at ITA Regional
SUMTER, S.C. – Naomi Reyes was the only member of the King University women’s tennis team to compete in the ITA Southeast Regional this weekend. The sophomore dropped her first match of the weekend, but followed that with back-to-back wins to reach the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket in the B Draw.

King-UVa-Wise dual match washed out
WISE, Va. – The men’s and women’s tennis dual matches at UVa-Wise scheduled for Wednesday afternoon have been postponed due to rain. No makeup date has been announced at this time.

Hosomi, Reyes take first title in King tennis history
SUMTER, S.C. – Over the weekend, the King University women’s tennis team returned to action with a new look to their team as they returned just two players from a season ago, and those two players made King history. At the Palmetto Tennis Center Individual Tournament, the doubles team of Mariana Hosomi and Naomi Reyes won the C Draw of the event to take home the first title in King tennis history.

Young Tornado eager to open 2013-14
BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second consecutive season, the King University women’s tennis team will be comprised of mainly underclassmen. Head coach Kethan Darbar returns two of his four players from a season ago, and adds a talented group of freshman for the upcoming campaign.
