King falls at Carson-Newman

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The King University women's swimming team traveled to take on Carson-Newman University on Friday night. The Tornado, who were swimming shorthanded fell to the Eagles 166-34.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The 200 yard medley relay team of Jess Vargo, Macarena Martin Mayor, Nicola Mead and Haley Carpenter started the meet with a time of 2:01.60.
  • Vargo followed that with a 200 yard freestyle time of 2:05.85.
  • In the 100 yard backstroke, Martin Mayor touched the wall in 1:05.69.
  • Mead was the first to touch the wall in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:13.19.
  • Vargo finished the 200 yard backstroke in 2:23.86.
  • In the 200 yard breaststroke, Martin Mayor finished in 2:33.19 and Carpenter came in with a time of 2:49.52.
  • Mead came in with a 100 yard butterfly time of 1:00.54 and Martin Mayor finished the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:22.42.

  • King travels to Union College (Ky.) on Saturday, February 3. The meet in Barbourville, Ky., is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
