BRISTOL, Tenn. – Macarena Martin Mayor had a solid weekend for the King University women's swimming team at the Fall Frenzy Invitational. She set a pair of school records and earned Conference Carolinas Swimmer of the Week honors.
Martin Mayor set two school records and two individual bests over the weekend at the Fall Frenzy Invitational. She set school records with a 400 yard individual medley time of 4:43.22 and in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:13.11. The sophomore also set a personal best in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:15.69.
She becomes the first Tornado to earn Conference Carolinas Swimmer of the Week as this is the first year the league has sponsored swimming. It also marks her first career weekly award.
The Tornado will be in action again on January 12 when they host Mars Hill University and Emory & Henry College at Virginia High School. The meet is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
