BRISTOL, Tenn. - The King College men's and women's swim teams start the 2010-11 season Saturday as the squad travels to Mars Hill (N.C.) College.
The meet will also bring Brenau (Ga.) University to Mars Hill for the 1 p.m. opener.
King closed out the 2010 season at the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championship in February with a seventh-place finish for the men while the women were eighth. At the season ending event King broke 15 program records in head coach John Connor's fourth season at the helm.
For Connor's fifth season, he added two freshmen to the women's roster to go with the nine returnees. On the men's side he brought six newcomers to go along with the six members from the 2009-10 squad.
After the season opener, King swims again in two weeks, Oct. 23, at Pfeiffer (N.C.) University.
This is the first season for King as a NCAA Division II member.
