GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College's Morgan Shelton played her way onto the 2010 NCCAA/NSCAA Women's Soccer Division I Honorable Mention All-American list, the organization announced.
Shelton, a junior forward from Chattanooga, Tenn., finished the season with nine goals in 22 matches. She scored two game winning-goals, against Covenant (Ga.) College and Concord (W.Va.) College in 2010. Shelton also had an assist against Mars Hill (N.C.) College, a match that she also had a goal in. She did not have a multi-goal effort this season, but three times her goal was the only score King had. However when she scored, King had a 5-4 record in those matches.
In all 41 student-athletes were honored with just 14 on the first and 14 more on the second team with 13 honorable mentions. The first and second teams were made up of two goalkeepers, four forwards, four midfielders and four defenders.
King ended the season at 8-14 after finishing sixth at the NCCAA Nationals and the team won the NCCAA Mid-East Region Championship.
