BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College was handed a 5-0 loss Saturday by the University of North Alabama to close out the home portion of the schedule.
It only took North Alabama, now with a 15-3 record, to take the lead. Chloe Roberts scored an unassisted goal at the 3:57 mark from in front of the net.
After the rest of the first half went scoreless, Roberts provided assists on the next three North Alabama goals. Danielle Vaughan, Jo Chubb and Jamie Takala all scored between the 52nd and 58th minutes to pad the advantage. Adrienne Aragon finished the scoring with a goal in the 67th minute, assisted by Chubb.
North Alabama, ranked No. 7 in the NCAA Division II South Region, had 19 shots in the contest while King attempted a dozen, six on goal. A dozen of North Alabama's shots were on goal as Abbey Kitts (Tazewell, Va.) recorded seven saves.
Alex McLay and Lauren Middleton combined for the shutout in goal for North Alabama, the ninth for the visitors this season. McLay played 62 minutes with four saves with 28 minutes for Middleton and two stops.
King, now at 4-12, has a trip to North Greenville (S.C.) University on Nov. 6 to close out the regular season.
